Community Groups are groups based in non-profits, businesses, neighborhoods, schools, clubs, or communities pledging to cleaning a site along the San Lorenzo River and ensure that volunteers are distributed across the entire river.

Like individual volunteers, Community Group members will be rewarded up to $20 in Downtown Dollars or gift cards value each redeemable at business in downtown Santa Cruz.

Responsibilities

15+ people committing to clean up for the 2-3 hour event and do the following:

All participants register for the event between 9:30-10AM
Pickup and Return Cleanup Materials event provides gloves, trash pickers, trash bags for the site
Communication and Information Support for members of your community to get involved

Site Captain

Appointed by Community Group to perform the following

Verify collected litter by weight or # of items collected—recommend delegate help within Community Group
Manage and distribute SCGX Rewards
Photo document collected litter
Proper disposal of collected litter from SCGX Site
